Haldor Topsoe A/S is a Danish catalyst and technology company and a world leading supplier of catalysts and process technology for the fertilizer, chemical, refining and environmental industries. Haldor Topsoe has an engineering and research staff of more than 1,800 people devoted to the development and manufacture of catalysts and specialised in engineering design based on catalytic processes. The company has been active within the field of catalysis since 1940. Topsoe has been working in the SCR DeNOx area since the beginning of the 80's, and the first large-scale unit operating on a coal fired boiler plant was commissioned in 1990. Since then Topsoe has supplied process know-how, equipment and catalysts for NOx abatement in gas- oil- and coal-fired boilers, gas and diesel engines, gas turbines, incinerators, and chemical plants. Topsoe's DNX-type SCR DeNOx catalysts are based on a uniquely porous, fibre-reinforced titania carrier. The result is a highly effective catalyst with remarkably low SO2-oxidation and an excellent resistance to poisoning. Topsoe offers to complement the catalyst supply with a basic process engineering package for optimising the catalyst performance and is hereby able to undertake a full process guarantee for the SCR DeNOx unit.
